2009 Golf Tournament

The 28th annual golf tournament was held last Saturday at Simoro Golf Links. Thirty golfers enjoyed golf and lunch. Bob Armstrong won the Arnie Krueger Memorial Trophy with a top score of 77. He was followed by John Myers, Dale Barrett, Wayne Whittaker and Chuck Alexander. Mike Hill won the top guest award with an 83 over Barry Towner and Harry Stegenga. Team Keogh took the Best Ball Foursome with a 67. Team Haugh/Miller/Barclay captured second while Team Maw/Harris/Georgi and Team Adams/Richardson tied for third. Rob and Cameron VanBuskirk took on the big boys showing some sparkling shots (just wait till next year!). Jim Doyle, Gerry Murfitt and Bob Burns battled it out in their foursome.

Dale Barrett won closest to the pin with a remarkable shot on #7 that was only 30 cm away. Jim Doyle pounded out the longest drive scorching one further than all of the other golfers (and on the fairway). As has become custom, Michael Keogh worked his magic with a heads/tails contest to raise money for Harmonize for Speech - $114.11 in total. Thanks to Michael from all the barbershoppers.
